Since 2004, a lot have been invested to develop low attenuation PMMA POF for data communication. We succeeded in 2006 in achieving a low cost, a stable attenuation of less than 200 dB/Km at 650 nm wave length (typically at a level of 180 dB/Km) and 100 Mbps bandwidth over 100 meters distance. We are truly only one who can achieve an industrial production of low attenuation data communication PMMA optical fiber in China currently. Our innovative technology comes close to advanced international level but with a much lower production cost.
Starting from the purification of MMA monomer and subsequent polymerization, extrusion and spinning, we obtained low attenuation PMMA optical fiber with a diameter ranging from 0.5mm to 3.0mm. More wide ranges of PMMA optical cables are available as well. We are strongly capable of making custom tailor made PMMA optical fibers and cables, speciality fibers and cables.
We are making great efforts in promoting POF in the applications of fiber-to-the home (FTTH), fiber-to-the-desk (FTTD), LANs, home and office networking, industrial & factory automation, digital surveillance, automotives, sensors, patchaords, interconnect, illumination and decoration, military and security, etc.
It is well known that our PS optical fibers are a big market player in the global market. Up to the end of 2007, the accumulative sales volume reaches over 10 million kilometers, occupying 60% of the total output made in China. We invented 36 die-head automatic spinning line, making our production efficiency 10 times higher than our counterparts.
